MY PATH TO RAW LIVE FOODS

“ONCE SHE WAS A PARTY GIRL….WILD GIRL, SHORT HAIR, BOOKS EVERYWHERE. BUT  A MEAT OF A DEAD ANIMAL BODY SHE HAD ONLY FEW TIMES IN HER MOUTH. SHE COULD SWEAR LIKE A TROPPER, BUT WOULD NEVER KILL A FLY”.

THAT IS ME.

9 DAYs WATER FAST!!!! 

Two years ago I’ve done a 9-days water fast. After reading all of Giennadij Malachow’s books I knew it was worth a try.

Since I was a small girl I was conscious about eating habbits. Salad a day, apples with me everywhere, fish very once in a blue moon.

Yes, I had my bad habbits too, but I have had overcame them.

Two years ago, after being certified as a yoga teacher, after taking buddist refuge at the KARMA KAGJU school ( which basically has nothing to do with RAW FOODS, but have opened me to a NEW ME-with/or without SELF-who knows..;-)) , after all those chances I’ve taken with earnestness, joy and bliss – I’ve decided to feel more “watery” then I’d used to feel.

I had bought bottles of SmartWater and set up a fast schedule :

  1. day – breakfast, lunch, dinner – H2O.
  2. day – breakfast, lunch, dinner – H2O. 
  3. day – breakfast, lunch, dinner – H2O.
  4. – 14. day – breakfast, lunch, dinner – H2O ( to not boring You with this brilliant schedule:-))

Yes, I was determined to last on water for 14 days.

But is was hard.

On the 10th day I had to start comming out/breaking out the fast, because I’ve sighned up for a workshop with Gregor Singleton-Power Yoga in Appleton appleton-yoga-030-small.jpg. That’s how HOT it was!!! My camera did its best!

You can see (maybe) how skinny I was that time..You can imagine: 9 days on water only plus 3 days 4-6 hours daily power yoga, which means the room temperature was over 90! MY SKIN WAS GLOWING!!! 

The time I was comming out of the fast – I was juicing. BUT-not for a time I suposed to – instead of 3 days of juicing, I did 2 and then started eating solids, which made my stomach a lit a bit crazy..;-). Anyway-the result was obvious:energetic, light body, open mind, joy, beautiful skin.

If You could ask me one question – what would it be?

“WAS IT HARD?”- am I right? 😉

Well….. It was and it wasn’t. The first two days I was totally fine-no hunger, no nausea. I am assuming that having a strickt diet is much harder, because You have to watch yourself all the time; what you eat, how much, when etc. When you water fast you don’t have to worry about anything else but your  water supply! Excellence water supply!! 

{By the way-before You go on and start your water fast-read some guidelines (websites, books about the topic are everywhere! If  you wish-I can make up an article for you about that too!!)}.

Because of the simplicity of water fast – your body doesn’t have to  deal with digesting solids and can all concentrate on the – CAUTION!  – cleansing process!!! wow!!! Finally we’ve got it!-because that is the point of the whole issue about fasting!! CLEANSING / DETOXIFYING PROCESS!! 

On the 3rd day I stayed in bed – clumsy, tired, flappable. My breath slowed down and I’ve got a headache. The toxins started getting  to my blood stream.

On the 4th day I was like a fountain of youth! I did 3 hours of powerful yoga, went for a walk , even fixed a dinner for my boyfriend. Now-this my opinion about cooking for somebody and fasting : STAY AWAY FROM THE FOODS  for the time you’re fasting. You’ve probably noticed that if You take a clove of a garlic and You just hold it in your hands for a while-You can simply feel the taste of it in your mouth later. All the aromatic oils will get into your body stream and we don’t really want that to happen. Besides – my senses were extremelly strong- I couldn’t use any lotion on my skin, neither make-up. My boyfriend’s beautiful perfumes started making me sick. I felt like I wa the most creative person ever!

On the 5th day I couldn’t walk. I’ve got a period (sugestion-never fast during the period time ), headache, the weather was damp. I didn’t expect anything good happen to me that time. The odors of cooking comming to my nostrils from neighbour’s houses were killing me!

On the 6th day I woke up at 5-30, but stayed in bed and started reading cookbooks;-). My imagination about foods I will eat after fast was exploding! I wasn’t hungry at all, but I had cravings. Now I know what they are-when one craves a pasta, the pasta is circulating in ones blood stream;-), when one craves coffee-the coffee is circulating. This is so simple! I was detoxifying acidic coffee that time.

On the 7th day I had huge come back-woke up at 6 am, felt as fresh as a morning breeze in the Azure Coast, didn’t really want a water dring (by the way-If You do enemas-you won’t drink so much) and spend a day in total peace, but full of energy! World was perfect, I was perfect, people were perfect!

IF YOU HATE PEOPLE- FAST FOR A WHILE!!! ONCE YOU DETOXIFY  SOME OF THE STICKY, UNNATURAL FOODS-YOU WILL START LOVING PEOPLE AGAIN!!!

On the 8th day I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror:smooth face, no wrinkle at all, BEAUTIFUL GIRL UNPLUGGED!!! My boyfriend couldn’t stop touching my arms and neck and my buns;-).

The only problem was….. the breath…… Since 4th day my breath was foul…… That is the worst part of fasting for a longer time-if you’re not really clean at the inside. I was lucky, because my boyfriend gave me total support and I didn’t have to work for 10 days, but-anyway-it was sort of confounding..

On the 9th day I was still searching for some recipes online and this day I found out that the girl named Ana Brett was a raw-foodist. I’ve never met her (but I will one day for sure!), but she always was grabbing my attention like crazy! ON THE 9TH DAY OF MY WATER FAST I HAVE STARTED READING ABOUT RAW / LIVE FOODS AND THAT IS HOW MY JOURNEY BEGAN!!!

I am not saying that that day I became a 100% Raw Foodists. But I knew that pretty soon something big is going to happen in my life!

The time was passing by, I was reading and awaiting the day when I will  feel that I AM READY.

I was affraid of not having bread ,pastas, chinese food anymore. I was thinking that all my social life will colapse. Because – what will I eat when I’ll go out with my friend?! Even more-how could I stand the smell of the food they will order for themselves?! Even more then more: Will I ever go out?!

And there comes another suggestion for You, my friend on the raw food road:

CONCENTRATE ON THE DO-S NOT DON’T-S!!!

As soon as I capished that simple truth – I found myself being ready for a raw journey.

Since then I was saturating myself with EVERYTHING what was written/spoken about RAW FOODS and the deeper I’ve dig, the more clear, obvious the path was to me. It felt like I was scrubbing a dirty floor or rending the nuts. The truth of health was right underneath the DIRT AND FOG AND MOLD!
